Short version: you are buying software to run games at your own private party. We supply the game. You supply the party, the prizes and the music.
What you are buying
A licence to run PartyPlay games for 24 hours, or 3 days, depending on which you bought. That time starts when you press start, not when you pay. You confirm it on screen first, so it cannot happen by accident. Building your games beforehand costs nothing extra and does not start the clock.
A licence you never start lapses 12 months after purchase.
Your licence is capped at 50 players. There is no upgrade beyond that.
Private use only
PartyPlay is for a private gathering. It is not for a business, a club, a venue, a fundraiser or a promotion of any kind, and it must not be used to run a game that anybody pays to enter.
If you are running games at a pub, club or venue, or for a business in any way, you need VenuePlay instead. It is built for that, and it handles the licensing rules that come with it.
We may end a licence without refund if it is used commercially. Nobody pays to enter a PartyPlay game: the product has no way to sell a ticket or take an entry fee, and that is deliberate.
Prizes
Any prize is yours to provide and yours to hand over. We are not involved in it, we never hold it, and we do not run a lottery or any game of chance for money.
Music
PartyPlay does not supply music or lyrics. Where a game involves music you play it yourself from your own source. A private party at your home does not need a music licence, which is another reason this is private use only.
Refunds
Until you press start, you still have everything you paid for. Your licence does not expire for 12 months, so a party that gets postponed, or cancelled, or never quite happens, costs you nothing and needs nothing from you. Just start it whenever the night finally arrives.
That is most of what a refund policy is usually for, so what is left is short:
- Changed your mind, within 7 days of buying, before pressing start: full refund, no questions.
- After 7 days, before pressing start: no refund, but nothing is lost either. Your licence is sitting there for a year.
- Once you have pressed start: no refund. You have had the software.
None of this limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If PartyPlay does not work as described, you are entitled to a remedy regardless of anything written here, and we will sort it out.
What we do not promise
PartyPlay needs a working internet connection and a device to play on, and we cannot promise anything about your wifi, your television or your guests' phones. We do our best to keep the service up, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted.
The party album
Guests can add photos from their own phones. You can download the lot for 30 days after your party ends, and then the whole album is deleted. That is not a limitation we are apologising for, it is the point: nobody's party photos should sit on somebody else's server forever.
It is your party, so what ends up in the album is your responsibility. If something is in there that should not be, tell us and we will remove it.
Your guests
Guests give a nickname and nothing else. You are responsible for what happens at your own party, including anything your guests type in.
