The honest version is short, because we hold very little.

Your guests: a nickname, and whatever they choose to photograph

People who join your party type a name so everyone knows who they are. That is the only thing we require. No sign up, no account, no password. The nickname is deleted when the album is, 30 days after the party ends.

Under the name there is one optional box: an email address, if they want the photo album sent to them the next day. It can be left empty and they can still play. Nothing on the night depends on it, and no game treats a guest differently for skipping it.

If they do give it, it is used for exactly one thing: sending that album. Beside it is a separate tick, unticked, for the occasional party idea. That tick is the only thing that ever puts a guest on a list, they have to choose it, and one click stops it.

Guest emails are deleted with everything else from that party, 30 days after it ends, unless that person ticked the box, in which case the address stays on the marketing list until they unsubscribe.

Photos and videos, if anybody takes any

Guests can add photos, and record a short video message, from their own phone. Nobody has to, nothing is taken automatically, and there is no camera running in the background. The camera only turns on while somebody is actually recording, and it is switched off the moment they finish.

A photograph or a video of somebody is more than a nickname, so it is worth being exact about what happens to it:

• It is stored privately and never listed or searchable anywhere. The person who bought the party can see the album with a key that only ever went to their own email. They can also make a share link to pass around, and a guest who asked for the photos is sent that link. Anyone holding that link can see and save the photos, so it is shared the way you would share a private photo album link, not posted anywhere public.
• The whole album is deleted 30 days after the party ends. Not archived, not kept for analysis. Deleted.
• One exception, and it is the host's own: photos the host uploads to build a game, such as baby photos for Guess the Photo, are kept for up to 13 months from the day the party was bought, so the game can be played again. They are deleted after that, whatever happens. Delete the game and its photos go with it, straight away. Or email us and we will remove them.
• We do not run face recognition on it, we do not use it to train anything, and we do not use it in our own advertising unless you send it to us and say we can.

If you are in a photo at somebody's party and you want it gone before then, email us and we will remove it. You do not have to be the person who bought the party.

You, as the person who bought it

We hold your name and email because you are our customer and we have to send you a receipt and your party code. If you gave us a mobile number, we hold that too. Payment is handled by Stripe and we never see your card details.

If a guest asks for the photos

At a party we offer to send you the album the next day. It is an offer, not a toll: the photos are never held back from anyone who says no, and nobody has to give an email to see or add a single thing.

If you do give it, we use it once, to send you that one album link, and then it is done. Asking for photos from one party is not permission to email you forever, and we keep the two things in separate places so they cannot be quietly treated as one.

There is a second, separate tick box if you also want the occasional party idea. That one is never ticked for you.

The mailing list, only if you ticked the box

If you opted in at checkout we will send the occasional party idea. That box is never ticked for you. One click stops it, and unsubscribing does not affect anything you have paid for.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel on our public pages, so we can see how many people find us, how many go on to book, and so we can show PartyPlay ads to people who have looked at the site. They set a cookie and tell us about visits, not about people: we never send them your name, your email or anything you type. Neither is on the party pages, the host screen or the album, so nothing from your actual party goes anywhere near them.

Who else sees it

Stripe for the payment, Resend to send your emails, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel on our public pages, and Supabase and Cloudflare to run the service and store the album. Nobody else, and we do not sell anything to anyone.

Getting it back or getting rid of it
